Privacy Policy
Sharply is an Android app published by TNPixel ("we", "us"). The short version: your photos never leave your phone through us. Sharply has no account, no server of ours and no analytics. This policy lists what is processed and by whom.
What stays on your device
- Your photos and the results are processed on your device by AI models that are included in the app (Real-ESRGAN for sharpening and upscaling, and a colorization model). Nothing is uploaded, and the app works in airplane mode.
- Saved results are written to your gallery (Pictures/Sharply) when you choose Save, and a copy is kept in the app's private library on your phone. Delete the app to remove the private library; images saved to your gallery stay in your gallery until you delete them.
- We use Android's Photo Picker, so Sharply can open only the photos you pick. It does not ask for access to your whole library.
- Settings (theme, daily free count, onboarding) are stored on your device.
Services used by the app
- Google AdMob shows ads to free users. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers, approximate location (from IP address), and usage data to serve and measure ads. In the EEA, UK and similar regions you are asked for consent through Google's consent form. Ads can be removed with Premium. See Google's advertising policy.
- RevenueCat manages Premium subscriptions. It receives an anonymous app user identifier, your purchase and subscription status and basic technical information (app version, device model, OS and country), as described in RevenueCat's privacy policy. We do not receive your name, email or payment details.
- Google Play processes payments.
Permissions
- Internet and network state: ads and purchases only. Photo processing does not use the network.
- Notifications: to tell you when a batch job finishes or to send reminders you turn on. You can turn these off in Android settings.
- Foreground service and boot completed: to keep long batch jobs running and to restore reminders after a restart.
- Set wallpaper: only when you choose to set a photo as your wallpaper.
- Photos are chosen with the Android Photo Picker, so Sharply never gets access to your whole gallery.
App lock and library
Your Sharply library (results, notes, tags) is stored only on your device. You can lock the app with your device biometrics or screen lock and encrypt the library; the keys stay in the Android Keystore on your device. Backups you create are files you choose where to save.
What we do not do
- We do not require an account and we do not run servers that receive your photos.
- We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs of our own.
- We do not sell your personal data.
Content you create
Colorization and enhancement results are generated by AI models and are estimates; colors are not the original colors. You are responsible for photos you process and share, and for having the right to use them. Do not use Sharply to deceive or harm others.
Children
Sharply is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
- Delete the app to remove all locally stored data. Delete saved results from your gallery separately.
- Reset or limit your Android advertising ID in Android Settings → Privacy → Ads, and change ad consent where offered.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions.
- Depending on where you live (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, LGPD and similar laws) you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of personal data held about you. We hold no personal profile about you; for data held by RevenueCat or Google, contact them or write to us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app or on its Google Play page.
